Q: Can someone explain 3-way vs 4-way solenoids please

Cannons powered by pneumatic pressure (compressed gas) using a valve or other release.

Poland / Technician, anyone.......... ?
:?

I am sketching up a standard barrel seal launcher and hope to use a single solenoid to do the inlet / fill and port.

Do I need a 3-way or a 4-way or what ?

TIA

3 way valve.

one inlet from air source

two outlets - one to the pilot chamber (fill cycle), one to atmosphere (firing cycle)

That way the 3 way is either filling your chamber and blocking the exhaust, or exhausting while blocking the air feed.
