Variable Velocity demo. Fin stabilized 40gram projectiles at 150 and 300fps. Also shows new inline breech in operation. Constant 275psi
Testing today at 400psi acheived 225fps from a 111gram (.24 pound) gas canister. 192 foot pounds of energy.

not bad... though it's more practical to design underpowered cartridges for conventional grenade launcher

What's your max ROF, and is the alteration to the 40mm round to cope with the change in propulsion methods extensive?
Very nice!

Thanks all.
Poland_spud: Unlike underpowered 40mm ammo the launcher can adjust between 4 power settings on the fly with a position lever. The ammo is also caseless and a fraction of the cost.
Mobyl: The current fin stabilized round is 4.75"x1.573" The tails are rigid RIM and the nose a softer RIM. The new timer for aerosol canisters is pneumatically metered and press fits over 38mm cans that we wrap in heat shrink to make up the difference to bore size.
Max rate of fire we have achieved is 6 rounds in 2.3 seconds at 275psi using the stock tank and a front mounted quick connect tank.

Mr. Crowley, the design change was to focus on updating the launcher with a more accurate indexer and efficient loading system. The original Eclipse was designed to be adapted between a revolver and a belt fed. This revolver is designed as strictly such. I will be revisiting the belt fed next due to the extensive interest for remote operated versions with large ammo capacity.
The new valve is variable velocity and has over twice the flow of the original. We reached a point of zero return at around 400 psi with the old valve. I am hoping we can increase velocity with pressure beyond 800psi before the round is out of the barrel.
