My first cannon

Boom! The classic potato gun harnesses the combustion of flammable vapor.

I made this cannon a couple years ago with my dad (i was 14 at the time). It is a very basic spray and pray design with a bbq igniter. It shoots 200-250 yards and can fairly easily punch through .5 in plywood.

as you see, we didn't really have any 2.5 in fittings

Here's some damage to .5 in plywood

Igniter in the handle, nice touch. Good thinking on the ammo as well.

i had just walked out to take that picture of the plywood, and it had rained like a monsoon for about half an hour. The plywood wasn't that old and had maintained plenty of its integrity. I'll see if i can get a couple videos of it in action this weekend.

PS: i was mistaken by the plywood thickness, i went out with calipers and measured it and it came out to be .68", so i'm assuming its 11/16 or 5/8 in, depending on the brand
