This is hardly worthy of a post given what people here have accomplished since my last submission. Nevertheless, it's still a cannon so here it is.

This cannon is actually part of a matched pair. Right now it has an improvised 1" barrel on it which I used for testing. In the coming weeks both will be made into auto-loading golf ball cannons. They will be hopper fed and loaded by a hollow bolt much like a paintball gun.

They both feature a 1" piston-style QEV with a 3/4" slide valve.

Wow, where'd you source two 1" QEV for less than an arm and a leg?

eBay, same with the giant slide valves... All of them were impulse buys ("Woah, a giant QEV! ... Woah, a giant slide valve!") and now I'm finally getting around to making use of them

A simple, well put together cannon is always worth posting.
I am convinced that they are more fun in the long run.

Still 17 after all these years huh?

Is that a 1" QEV or 20mm? I think I just bought the same one

1st time on SF for 3 years so may have forgotten but how exactly does a slide valve work? when its slid forward is the fitting open on the inside, then when you slide it back it shuts off the air from the compressor side and lets air out the collar?

That is a basically a 1/2 inch QEV. The 20mm measurement is the nominal pipe outside diameter.
