WIP- piston-reservoir

I would like to share the concept of my current build..


I plan to take Old Shatterhand apart and make it a completely different gun alltogether.

To me, it seems like a good idea to make it a pump pneumatic, single shot.
But a very powerfull one ofcourse.

As fridgecompressors only last so long ( had 3 of them die on me) and I've had a traumatic experience with a homemade high pressure pump..
Old Shat is just collecting dust.

My plan is to take the pump assembly out of the lever action and use that...while I cut up the lever action into something...else...
that will be revealed later...

I've made a hollow piston out of some steel tube and aluminium insert.This is pushed against the end of the pressuretube wich has a rubber seal.
The checkvalve doubles as the back of the pilot chamber and a 1/8" elbow leads out to a hammervalve to enable piloting.

It's like a chambersealing piston valve in reverse.

The drawing is just to show the basic idea.
I'll most likely "hammer" the pilotvalve Girandoni style, meaning the valve is pushed open by a rod and the hammer serves as the cocking mechanism.The rod disengages as the hammer hits home.

I prefer this type of set up because it keeps all pressure-parts contained in a single tube. Nice and compact and safe, not to mention clean.


The barrel doubles as the pumplever.
When it rotates up the breech is exposed and anything that will fit can be shot out.

I'll end up with a versatile launcher.
The pump enables me to use it anywhere, reach whatever pressure I would like to use it at and I am not fixed to a certain type of ammo or caliber ( barrel inserts?)

Not that far...
Made the piston and seal and cut the port.

I'm taking it easy.


I haven't cut the tube for the pumparm yet..

To be honest..I'm not 100% sure...the front section could simply serve as a PCP reservoir..
That would make it less nose heavy I guess..

A seperate pump would enable me to pistolise the sawed-off lever action..I'm thinking Peacemaker with a twist...

Oh..I forgot to mention the seal side has 1/4" threads that would allow for some added chambervolume to be threaded in..

This concept reminds me a lot of the Zoraki HP-01 compression pistol.
