Vortex Blocks

For my vortex blocks I use 1/2" acrylic sheet, only $0.50 for a 4" x 4" square. It's tough and durable and it's clear. 8) Too bad it smells like crap when you cut or drill it. Now I need some clear pipe to house it in.

do you just glue a bunch of sheets together to get the required height? where do you get the sheets from?

And I get the sheets from a plastics store near me. You can also get PVC in Sch 40 or 80 sheets, and ABS sheets.

In the link it says all "samples" are 2 bucks but I went to get 1 sample 1/2" clear acrylic ($2), 1 sample 1/4" Sch 80 PVC ($2), and 2 samples of 1/4" clear acrylic ($4). So it should have been $8.50, but I know them so they gave me 2 1/2" sheets of acrylic, 2 PVC sheets, and 3 1/4" acrylic sheets. And they only charged me five bucks for all of it. 8)
Should have been 15.

that pretty much eleminates any more need to stick pvc in the oven to flatten it!

but i mean do you like cut a bunch of circles of plastic and stack them and glue them to get the basic shape of your vortex block? and by basic shape i mean the solid bondo cylinder you usually see but in acrylic.

I use inline vortexes. Like think of the bondo in the plug but just the upper rectangular prism shaped part. That way I don't need to put a fat ugly T in. I can just mount the block inside a piece of pipe with a screw to attach it. Let me draw a Paint version real fast.
