Camera Flash Trigger

I'm in the process of modyifying an old camera to make my self a camera flash ignitor. First off... am i wasting my time? is this method too complex for the quality of the end result? Second... what is the best way to wire it? I have thouroughly studied the 'spud-wiki' section of camera flash ignitors, but im curious as to what people use and have sucess with. Any insight would be killer

Either use the 3-point ("triggered") spark gap method (using all 3 wires that go to the flash bulb enclosure) or discharge the main leads to an automotive relay and ignition coil (more complex and expensive, but very impressive results). I've tried both. The 3 point method is easier, but the ignition coil produces huge sparks.

I tried many a time wiht these things and always failed i got zapped about 20 times and i went through atleast 7 cameras and wiht nothign to show from it but a twitchy feeling when i see one.But if it works let me no i want to see proof of this working.

Well you can check my topic about my camera flash ignition system its nothing fancy and works perfectly its pretty easy to understand you basicly have 2 screws one with a loop on the end (trigger screw) and a base screw you pull the trigger screw making it touch the base screw causing a spark
