Seamless, galvanized, threaded, welded, what? Be specific.

McMaster lists pressure ratings for most of the pipe and fittings on their site, including steel - you might find answers there. www.mcmaster.com

Otherwise give us more info on the exact pipe/fittings you're wondering about.

It depends on the welds. but be carefull because if welded wrong the can srcew up at 40 psi.

I disagree. If you are a good welder then your welds should be stronger than your base metal.

man i would say for sch 80 carbon steel (at a guess because you never specified) would be well over 1000psi and probably above 3000psi burst pressure but and also possibly higher idk because i dont use that stuff:

these factors do come into it, threaded fittings are ok but welds are probably the safer option as long as you or someone you know can weld decent the welds should be stronger than the base metal as frankrede said. also another factor that comes into steel and many other things is grade and quality, i suggest ask the retail store where it comes from for the pressure ratings.

What if you have threaded connections that you weld too?
Sounds like it should be just as strong , if not stronger than a butt weld.

I think I found this digging in the spudtech hybrid section, it lists ratings for a couple types of steel. I've heard that you should cut the ratings in half if youre using threaded rather than welded fittings.

I messaged pcguy about this earlier, but I imagine he is too busy with the spudtech archive stuff right now.
