After my ballvalve pneumatic cannons got belittled umpteen times i am moving on to sprinkler valves but all i have is a 1 inch valve and i want to make a golf ball cannon will the 1 inch valve affect peformance and if so how much? sorry im quite a noob with pneumatics.

Affect performance as compared to what? Any sprinkler should give much better performance as compared to a ball valve. There are things better than a sprinkler (If you can get a QEV that should be even better) but a sprinkler is a fairly easy to use and readily avaliable option that will give good power.

no i mean will having a valve smaller than the barell effect perfomce as opposed to one the same size as the barrel

Well, logic dictates that a bigger one will work better, but compared to your ball valve, even the smaller sprinkler valve is better.

i know that i was just asking if the 1 inch valve im using for the 1.5 inch barrel would efect performance as opposed to a 1.5 inch valve i think paaiyan answered that though. but more details would be fine!sjog wrote:ball valves suck
springler valve will work better, there is no doubt
just do it
you know with long barrels ball valves are acually better than sprinkler valves because of the high flow.
i have used both and i personally think they are about the same. of cource my ball valves are all spring loaded and open so fest you cant see what happened, but i worked the same.

The concept is simple but actually putting it into practice involves some pretty heavy duty engineering, especially on a scale larger than 1", it's more challenging than modding a sprinkler valve. I think the latter would be the best solution in this case.frankrede wrote:Its quite a simple concept kid.

its not hard and if you cant figure it out you shouldnt build it. its litterally just a spring that pulls it open.
