Semi Auto Pistol Design w/Unique Valve

Here is a new design that I came up with for a small calibre semi auto pistol. The tank would be filled with either liquid propane or high pressure air. The solenoid would open for a split second allowing only a tiny amount of gas to pass through and hopefully allow for multiple shots.

Any ideas for magazines? Also has this sort of valve been done before?

That is vaguely the same principle as the one used by the Daystate Mk.3 that uses a solenoid to strike a hammer valve open. It looks like it would work well provided your solenoid is strong enough.

I was either going to shoot 6mm bb's or .22 air gun pellets.

go for BBs, you can have a simple mag in a tee like this:

6mm ball bearings would be easier to create a loading mech I think, but .22 air gun pellets are pretty awesome. But you can recycle BBs, ulike the pellets

Ill have to start saving up then. Where do you think Ill be able to find a 6mm tee. Maybe Ill have to make one in my ghetto machine shop.

Google RC warships.

The gun's they use for competitions generally fire BBs and are semiauto (full auto is against the rules).

Since the ships are so small they use a fairly small pressure bottle. The magazine they use is exactly the thing freaky might want to take a look at.

I made a prototype today and it works apart from some sealing issues.
ie. It leaks alot but the valve obviously works.
I'll hopefully get round to fixing it up in the next few days.

and a 6mm t could made easily with epoxy and 6mm copper tubing

For the valve I used a modified direct acting 3/4" sprinkler valve, I took out the diaphragm and made it so the solenoid armature opens/closes the barrel like the diagram.
I'll get some pics up soon.

i love this idea it would be nive to use a regulated co2 cartridge for looks and ease.
