glueing nail to pvc

for my breech loading setup i need to glue a nail to my barrel, what would be the best glue to do this with, ideally i would just want to put glue on the head of the nail.

glue on its own won't cut it if the nail is intended to bear a load (presumably the bolt action), you'll need to drill a hole though the barrel for the nail to fit through then secure it with epoxy.

poop that won't work cos that would screw up the barrel. i suppose if i found a pvc rod then i could cement that on and it would hold well.

is there any way to put a hose clamp on it and drill a hole in the hose clamp and push the nail through

no cos then the barrel wil not slide into the fitting.

definetly jacks idea. epoxy is the best stuff around.

a hole is not really going to mess up the barrel use a bolt and screw it into the side if you are pissed of at the thing not being smooth like the rest of the barrel you can patch it with some epoxy or grind it with a dremel tool

otherwise it will not stick

Maybe you could use a 4 inch long section of half inch PVC and then drill a hole through that half inch piece and then just ziptie it to the pipe? I don't know, I say epoxy or JB Weld if all else fails.

i have decided to not use a nail, after seeing the price of pvc rod i will just use that.

Use epoxy. Just put a dollop of it at the head of the nail, then put it onto the barrel, then once it has hardened, put some more around the base, it will hold.

Or alternatively, you could get some fencing wire, and bend it into a "u" shape, with one end of the "u" coming up and out to from the handle. The epoxy will have heaps of surface area to grip the the metal, creating a strong hold. i did this with hot glue and it worked well.
