First of, since this is my first post, Hi!

Anyway, I have made quite a few potato cannons and I have always wanted an automatic one. The only method to make an automatic that I can think of is to have a "hopper" below the barrel filled with ammo that operates on bernoulli's principle. for those of you who dont remember this from 3rd grade, its what makes airplanes stay up (try a google search). I was wondering if you guys think this would work or if anyone has done this yet? Thanks!

You mean something like this? If so, it's how most home built BB machineguns work, we even have a whole section dedicated to them ;)

Exactly like that but shooting golf balls or something. Thanks!

Then you would need a very big cloud or vortex, maybe it's a bit smarter to shoot some smaller ammo :D .

It's been done with marbles, golf balls and possibly tennis balls though i'm not sure if that was just a pipe dream or actually made.

For usch a device you'll need one hell of a propellant gas supply, which is why most people are happy to stick to 0.177" caliber ;)

For golf balls you would probably need a scuba tank regulated to 1000 psi but if you could do it that might be more impressive than that stainless steel combustion.

DR did it with a large air compressor at 150 or so psi, so it's certainly within the realm of possibility.

I am going to try it for my next project. It will just be a paintball pistol to try it out and if it works I will make one that shoot golf balls.

You should tap a hose adapter after the valve and run a section of tubing to under the hopper to get things moving. Try ur idea.
