yeah okay, when i screwed them on, i would only get the thread in like 3 rotations, thats prolly not enough right??

The gas variety is indeed the thicker yellow-ish type, and contrary to what mopherman says, there is an important difference.

Also, don't expect more than about 1100 fps from air, regardless of the pressure or valve. GGDT gives some pretty odd results around the sound barrier.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

I never said there wasn't a difference, just that they both work. What is this important difference you speak of anyway?

@mopherman: I've used both, and I always get less leaks with the gas variety.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

hmm, maybe i'll have to go get some more of that stuff. . . . i went and bought a bottle of pipe paste, i'll see how that works out.

sorry about bumping this almost dead topic :wink: but i have a question about the valve, how did you fit it in the tee and have good travel because i noticed you have a threaded fitting straight into the tee so i'm confused about how you fit it in with good travel :?

yes but i'm wondering how much space is left for piston travel when the threaded reducer is in the tee?

Well, the barrel is .5", so the piston should travel anywhere between .25" and .5". There seems to be ample room for travel.

ok i see to have got t into my head that pistons need to travel miles to be effective despite knowing that they only need 1/4 of the bore :happy8:

it looks pretty cool woth the scope and is that a union i can see on the barrel?
