The gas variety is indeed the thicker yellow-ish type, and contrary to what mopherman says, there is an important difference.
Also, don't expect more than about 1100 fps from air, regardless of the pressure or valve. GGDT gives some pretty odd results around the sound barrier.

Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?
I never said there wasn't a difference, just that they both work. What is this important difference you speak of anyway?Ragnarok wrote:The gas variety is indeed the thicker yellow-ish type, and contrary to what mopherman says, there is an important difference.

sorry about bumping this almost dead topic
but i have a question about the valve, how did you fit it in the tee and have good travel because i noticed you have a threaded fitting straight into the tee so i'm confused about how you fit it in with good travel
thanks Alasdair.

yes but i'm wondering how much space is left for piston travel when the threaded reducer is in the tee?MaxuS wrote:It's a threaded tee, that's it..
Well, the barrel is .5", so the piston should travel anywhere between .25" and .5". There seems to be ample room for travel.

ok i see to have got t into my head that pistons need to travel miles to be effective despite knowing that they only need 1/4 of the bore :happy8:DYI wrote:Well, the barrel is .5", so the piston should travel anywhere between .25" and .5". There seems to be ample room for travel.
lol yeah theres like .5" of travel inside the tee.
