2" piston ideas?

I'm attempting to build my first pneumatic with a 2" PVC tee piston housing. Besides casting from epoxy, what else have you guys used for making your 2" pistons? I know there are probably a bunch of ways, but I'm just curious as to what has worked well in the past. Thanks for the input.

1.5" end caps fit in there pretty well.

1.5" end caps would have to be sanded down some, but 1.25" don't.

My pistons are generally made from 1.25" couplers and 2" washers.

I used a 1 1/4" end cap, but pieced it together a bit differently.

Made mine from wood, (Oak) 2" diameter X 2 1/2" long. 1/8th" X 2" rubber washer for the sealing face. 1/4" steel carriage bolt holding the seal on. 2, 1 1/2" o-rings at each end for piston side clearance and a 1/32nds" equilzation hole, (lined with brass tubing) useing the sealing face rubber washer for a check valve.

What the hell spudfarm? Your topic is inadequate to be a sticky, it is confusing and just doubles what mine and clide's say. I told you what to do if you want it to be a sticky, people agreed with me and even said it's not worthy of one.

Do something new. Your topic was very, very confusing. It may be for every sized piston but people have trouble finding the MATERIALS to FIT the PIPE inside the TEE. It's not as simple as finding a cylindrical piece of wood that fits perfectly.

It just doesn't happen, and not everyone can machine a piece of wood down either. The hardest part, no doubt about it, is finding a suitable material that fits your piston housing.

That's why it is impossible to have one diagram of a piston that supposedly fits all pistons. It just cannot happen. That is why my 2" topic is limited to only 2" pistons.

Suave deodorant caps. Fit perfectly in 2" tees. I've made pistons out of them, and had no problems!

Interesting -- they're durable enough? I didn't think they would be. Most of those deoderant cans use very brittle plastic in their caps.

You fill it up with hot glue or epoxy.

That would never hold up, one shot and smash thats if it held the pressure.
