Has anyone ever made or seen THIS kind of piston? Skip to 4:20 to see how he made the piston. And the cannon Has 3 DWV fittings BTW.

Theres honestly nothing different about it. Beside the fact that he put a cleanout cap on a pneumatic. Insted of putting the sealing face on the bottom of the can he put in on the inside. It is still a coax piston gun.

Well it's a normal barrel sealer.

Difference is he's using a can for support forward of the piston face instead of the usual practice of having a solid cylinder/bolt assembly behind it or using a flexible diaphragm.

DWV at 80psi isn't something I'd bang on his door about though.

Neat man, thanks for posting this.

Seems like a fairly easy to build piston design, and has a stricter part list. Most piston designs leave a lot of guess work just because of different factors. Only problem with this design as far as copying would be to get the right thickness felt.

If you dont have felt, just wrap it in electrical tape.

Given that standard cans fit fairly nicely in 3" sched 40, I'm surprised this hasn't been tried before now....although it may have, I just haven't seen it.

The piston face should seal well and the felt should do a great job limiting but allowing air around the can...the piston as a whole would be light for it's size...no chance it getting cockeyed in the cylinder. I'm frankly having a hard time coming up with disadvantages of this thing.
