It will work, although what kind of pvc do you plan on using? 300 psi scares me a little with pvc especially if you use c02 as your pressure source as it's very cold (pvc doesn't like cold).
Now if your using a bike pump you should be ok as long as the pipe is rated above 400 psi as a safety feature I would add a gauge to the chamber.
There is a link in my sig to a bbmg that uses airsoft magazines and would fit into your design nicely.

Sure, if you have all that crap just lying around your house. Where's my doubtful smiley gone?
Honestly, this is what people make them from anyway.

I doubt you have a 300psi blowgun, for a simple 100psi I recommend soda bottles especially those 3 liters, there big but there light so their good for portable pneumatic, I also doubt you have a good 5feet of 6mm ID pipe or brake line

Twine will do
NOTHING to stop pvc shrapnel. Does the pvc say nsf-pw? Is there any pressure rating on it like xxx psi? The only pvc that would be rated to that would be 3/4 inch and below the pipe I have is 3/4 and rated to 370 psi.
I would just buy a stick of 2" steel pipe from home depot just to be safe.

no just use soda bottles they are safe to 100psi
EDIT: I would recommend Antonio's old design, I think it was about last summer this design got kinda popular because it allows you to tap off a small bottle air source for multiple shots effectively

1.25" SCH 40 NSF-PW is rated for 370psi.
Picture:
I wouldn't recommend anything larger then 1.25" though because of temperature changes.
