I though a sectional drawing of a commercially produced QEV existed in the SF but, I can't find it. Does anyone have such a drawing or know of a link to a sectional drawing? I think a QEV could be reproduced in billet with design tweaks to yield some off the chart performance with high pressure.

Thanks

I know I've seen a different one around here. Perhaps JSR will grace you with his lightning links.

He will with a "European" style QEV:

Actually I have a robot butler who informs me of the slightest mention of my internet persona, oh the joys of modern conveniences :)

LOL. Now I imagine Robin Williams as bicentennial man making various Epoxy casting clocks in his basement.

Anyways..Velocity, any particular reasoning behind this? Generally a normal piston valve will give you good enough results.

I agree. IMO, a properly designed and constructed piston valve delivers unparalleled performance. However, my interest in QEV design is for the purpose of creating a high pressure triggering device with "special" characteristics (E.g. 3+kpsi FOS).

Thanks to everyone for your help.
