putting the tire valve thing on the end of the hose has been done, The guy at advanced spudguns used one like that on i think it was his propane meter. and just put a schrader valve on the chamber of your gun.

hey guys, i am 95% done with my propane injected gun, it's a beauty- over under design with chamber fan, dual bbq ignition with a chamber short (burntlatke), breechloading barrel...all the goodies. But i can't find a propane pressure regulator anywhere!! that's the last peice i need and i really would like one to finish off my gun, where do i get them for cheap? Any help is much appreciated.

I personally don't use a regulator. I just use a pressure gauge on my meter pipe. Starting with the valve to the chamber closed, I open the torch valve about a half turn, open the first meter valve, wait til the gauge reads the correct pressure (38-40 psi for my gun), close the torch and the first meter valves, and then vent the propane into the chamber. This works fine for me, seems very consistent (it fires every time), and saved me $25 on a regulator. But this is just my experience.

Thanks pete, ya that's how my set up is now, with a gauge on my meter pipe, i just don't really have a budget set for this gun and thought a regulator would be cool, not necessary, but cool 8) Whatever, if i can't find one no biggie, but all the ones i have found people have said that they're not suitable for propane because it would eat away at the diaphragm seals i guess. Anyone else have a suggestion for a cheap propane pressure regulator?

Mr Heater regulators are regarded as the best for propane. I've seen them for $20, just look around. Try eBay.
