I'm not surprised about the unburnt powder, it's fairly slow rifle powder, and there's no confinement after the casing, so there'd be no power to it either.

A similar thing happened to me when I was 13 (f*ck, that was 7 years ago!), you'll find that a lot of girls at that age end up dating guys for very short periods before moving on (or dating two guys simultaneously). Then in a year or two they start dating older guys, which is annoying until the girls in the year below are old enough to date
You'll get your pick of the high school girls as you get older (but not too old!

In other words, things will get better as you get older and you wont even notice the girls in your own year unless they're quite fit.
