This is my first posted pneumatic. It is a marble shooting air rifle. The chamber is 8 inches of 1 1/2 in. pipe, the barrel is a 2 1/2 foot long piece of 1/2. The gun is filled by a schroeder valve near the chamber. For the trigger a used a cheap 1/4 in ball valve. Everything else is 1/2 in. pipe. It is a muzzle loader but I need some ideas for a compact breach loading system.[/quote]

you think you can show us some pictures? For a breach loading system you could just cut a hole in the pipe and slide a coupler over it. You should have bought a qev, they are only like $5 more than a ball valve. You could buy a QEV and exaust it with a ball valve, it will be twice as powerful. it sounds cool, try posting pictures.

Quick Exhaust Valve.
You could also buy a sprinkler valve, it's cheaper and is inline, whereas a QEV would screw up your design. Pretty good for a first.
