So here it is. I got the first parts a couple months ago then lost interest in building cannons, but recently I became interested again.

This gun shoots like a dream, killed a shaken up seltzer can at 20 psi and is capable of at least 400. The power will increase once I get another 1-2 feet of barrel on there too.

At the moment I'm using a cast hot-glue piston but will be switching to cast epoxy soon (its drying).

I'll get internal shots when I put in the new piston.

Nice gun, is it all 1/2 inch or 1/4 inch?, all it needs now is a stock, and a painjob, and it would be AWSOME.

1/2 inch, and I didn't have it mounted in the first couple pictures, but I have a shock pump hose clamped to the barrel for portable ass-kicking.

OK, and are you going to add a stock? And dont go anywhere over 150 psi, because of your blowgun pilot valve, if you want to take it to its full potential, replace the blowgun with a 1/4 inch ball valve.

looks good except portable ass kicking against a aeg is unlikely olny at long range.
You can tell how awesome a cannon is by the pressure used.

I have no worries about the blowgun, I did have a 1/4" ball valve on it though, and I couldn't hit shit. The blowgun is the only ergonomic option.

The blowgun should be fine, I use them at 200 PSI very frequently.

Great plinker you got there :)

nice little powerhouse u got there, would love to see it shoot a ball bearing at something for penetration purposes. this makes me interested in building a all metal piston gun, someday

The model I'm using is slightly different but in the same shiny-silver-basic-blowgun-with-red-rubber-handle category.

The plinker looks good, only question I have is... is your piston really almost the length of your chamber?

No, it occupies about three quarters of the space of the shiny chrome nipple. The rest is dead space :?.

What exactly is this D/4 thing I keep hearing about?

The piston only needs to move back 1/4 of the internal diameter of the tube it's sealing on to achieve full flow.

There are a few other issues that need to be taken into account if you want full flow but that is what d/4 means.

It has a shrader valve...

On the epoxy piston front the pseudo epoxy I used (check out my mini piston valve thread) sucks balls. I've left it curing for 2 1/2 days and its still wet.

Does anyone have a good online source for epoxy resin?
