A easy semi automatic pistol to build?

Searching for something really easy to build that not requires that much tools.

It does'nt really matter how it's propelled, co2, pcp, blanks etc., even springs and rockets.. - the important is that it's a pretty small pistol, can hold a big magazine and is not to weak, atleast over 10 joule.

I have already checked up some options and found this forum doing so, though it got some great inventions and ideas.

I think that blanks will be the best option to propell this pistol. I want it to be a safe project, so no blowing up risks..

Would some kind of ballistic knife modded to a pistol, propelled by blank cartridges be a better idea than putting pellets in the blanks, in order to keep the pressure low - but still get more effectiviness than a pellet of same speed?
