Well this is what i have been doing lately.
I think its pretty good for my first time with copper.
This gun isn't currently soldered so that needs to be taken care of (which i dont think it will be too hard for me)
Features/Specs:
4',1" copper chamber
6',.75" copper barrel
Bolt Action Breech Loading (just need the "Bolt" part)
Hot-Glue piston
When more funds come i am going to make it blowgun triggered with a 1/4 inch QEV.
Pump still needs to be made.
More pics to come tomorrow and I'll change the title.

Do you have any good games on that calculator?
Anyway, nice gun! Once it's soldered, you should definitely post some damage pics!

Nice clean job! Good air quantity and relatively long barrel. It should be a good performer if you've got your piston right. Get us some pics of that setup. Also a close up of the breech loader would be nice...

Looks good!
Going to have some serious punch with a six foot barrel too!
Pump will be "high" pressure (300psi+) no doubt?

I am going to make the pump based off your design, Gippeto, and ill most likely buy a check valve.
Does Home Depot sell check valves?
How much are they?
How much pressure can you use the with?

Thanks JSR.
I still need to put that foam on the chamber so that it doesnt make my hands dirty, and i need to put a spacer in between as well as hose clamps to hold it down.
Most of this should be done........after work of course

looking good man. Have you used hot glue for the piston before? Does it work well?
Yes it works ok, just make sure it has enough lubrication because the piston tends to have more friction with its seat.trollhameran wrote:looking good man. Have you used hot glue for the piston before? Does it work well?

i bought check valves at HD for my pump. They were brass swing checks for water, oil, and gas. I strongly reccomend against these. Mine leak like crazy. They are made entirely of brass even the sealing face and they leak like crazy. buy either a spring one, or make sure its got a sealing face
Ill just check online (maybe mcmaster) for a copper check valve.
What i also need is a pressure rated length of hose. I went to home depot and they have some, but i would have to cut it. And i asked if i can use it to 300 psi with hose clamps but they said it would leak.
So you guys got any ideas of a hose i can get that wont leak at 300psi+?
I think i might just go to a paintball store and do the same think chaos did,... get a braided metal hose.

Decent quality compressor hose is rated to 300psi.
I use hydraulic hose rated to 5800psi.

Thats what i was referring to here:Gippeto wrote:Decent quality compressor hose is rated to 300psi.
But do you think i can still use it with hose clamps without leaks?LikimysCrotchus5 wrote:
