Hey Y'all, I'm working on a .25 cal. multishot rifle. It's a PCP gun, and it uses a hammer valve as the one and only valve in the gun. Here's a picture:

Anyway, I need a springloaded hammer that hits the threaded rod on the right. I have experimented using a tube and a metal rod that's springloaded and it worked, but there's no way to really cock and fire it reliably. I have tried to figure out a good way to do this for a while, I have looked at diagrams of commercial pcp guns, and can't figure out how they do it. Does anybody have a way of doing this? I have done a lot of searching and I have not been able to find anything on this. Thanks!

Please note the "bolt" in the slot. It's attached to the hammer. :)

Ok, Success at last!!!!!! I built the bolt cocking mech and the trigger/sear mech just now. I made the trigger out of some heavy metal and cut it to shape with a cut-off-wheel, I made the bolt with some stell brakeline and some treaded rod and the help of the cut-off-wheel and a drill. It works like a charm. Thanks for all your help. By the way, the image is not working for me anymore either, even though it was earlier. Anyway, thats not important because Ive got this working. The only bad thing is when I was testing the sear, I forgot to block the hammer and it went flying, hit a light shade, denting it()Yeah, I'm using a powerful spring), and then fell somewhere and I can't find it....damn....

hmmm
well I found this

apparently, it's just a chamber sealing piston valve with a sear (mechanical actuation)

I'd like to see your solution for the sear. I'm facing a similar problem now, with incorporating a sear (for a hammer valve) into a stock. I'm thinking a steel pin (spring loaded to remain UP) which restrains the hammer, which passes directly through the stock. A lever attached to the trigger can then be used to actuate it.

Lets see it then, good work from what we hear :)
