Also if its to long it wont be able to move back enough and have poor flow .

Take a rubber sealing face and put a screw with a washer in it flat in the lubed up tube, then pour the hot glue in

A spring, tennisball, foam backer rod, silicon or rubber tubing anything that will absorb the force
